My coaching clients are frequently trying to make big decisions in their careers and lives. What I’ve learned working with the most successful of them is that you can’t thinkyour way to some things, you have to experimentyour way. This doesn’t mean you quit your job in order to try out a different field or new company. It means you learn what you can about it, talk to people there, spend time in some way in that environment and observe what it’s like. “Just try it” is a lot easier for most of us than “just do it”, when it comes to the bigger decisions.
