We give a lot of attention to diet and exercise when we think about our health, but much less to sleep, which has a huge impact on health and wellbeing. To get a better night’s sleep, don’t have any electronic devices in your bedroom. Be patient with your brain as it starts to unwind and get in sync with your tired body. If you wake in the night, avoid getting up. Instead try counting backward from 1,000. If you’re tired, this exercise will help you fall back asleep. It gives your brain a point of focus and prevents it from running through your ‘to do’ and worry lists.
